Giuliana Murfet

Nurse Practitioner and Credentialed Diabetes Educator practising in the area of diabetes since 1991. Involved in diabetes care within both clinical and management roles returning to clinical practice in rural regional Tasmania as a NP in 2010. Actively involved within the ADEA, is a current Board Director and member of the Medical, Educational & Scientific Advisory Council. Has held previous positions including Executive Director on the Board, as a member of the MESC, the ADEA Magazine Editorial Committee and branch Secretary. She has a strong interest in developing innovation and systematic practices within regions of limited resources; aiming to support people with diabetes to reach their targets through an environment of both partnership and collaboration. Giuliana has held a number of state leadership positions including more recently as a member of the Tasmanian Lead Clinicians Group (Senate) and Steering Committee of the Tasmanian Chronic Conditions Clinical Network. Giuliana holds a Master in Science, Master in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner), Graduate Diploma in Diabetes Education, Diploma in Management and governance training includes an In-Board Director training short program run by AICD.
