Lea Sorensen
Lea has a career in diabetes spanning more than 20 years involving clinical management, service planning and management, teaching and research. Her primary areas of interest are Type 1 diabetes, especially in adolescents and young adults, the effects of exercise in Type 1 diabetes, and the pathophysiology and management of painful peripheral neuropathy which was the area of study for her PhD. She has published in, and is a reviewer for, national and international peer review journals, authored book chapters and is a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University. In her current role she is the project lead for the development of an Intermediate Care model of diabetes management for Southern Adelaide Local Health Network Intermediate Care Services.
