Michelle So

Dr So is a PhD candidate at St Vincent’s Institute in Melbourne, supervised by A/Prof Stuart Mannering and Prof Thomas Kay. Her primary research aim is to identify clinically relevant autoantigens recognized by CD4+ T cells in type 1 diabetes and to use this knowledge to develop T-cell biomarkers. Dr So graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Advanced Medical Science from the University of Melbourne in 2007. She completed her first two years of training at Austin/Northern Health and The Royal Melbourne Hospital. She then worked as the Obstetric Medicine Fellow at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Parkville, Melbourne. She has also worked as a Clinical Skills Coach for medical students at The University of Melbourne, a facilitator for the John Turtle Clinical Skills course and is the research project officer for the ADS Insulin Pump course.
