Alan Attie

Alan Attie began his career working on cholesterol and lipoprotein metabolism. His studies included work on LDL catabolism, VLDL production, ABCA1, and mutations that affect LDL and HDL metabolism. In mid-career, he switched to studying diabetes using mouse genetics to identify genes that affect obesity-induced type 2 diabetes. These genes affect b-cell proliferation and b-cell function.
